Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements for the siting, design, and construction of radioactive waste storage facilities used in nuclear technology. This standard applies to the siting, design, and construction of new, renovated, or expanded storage facilities for radioactive solid waste and spent (used) radioactive sources generated from nuclear technology applications, typically referring to urban radioactive waste storage facilities. The siting, design, and construction of existing radioactive source storage facilities may also be implemented in accordance with this standard.
