GB/T 22720.2-2019 Rotating electrical machines—Qualification tests for the partial discharge resistant electrical insulation systems(Type Ⅱ) used in rotating electrical machines fed from voltage converters
Abstract
This part of GB/T 22720 specifies the evaluation criteria for the insulation structure of single-phase or multi-phase AC motors' stator/rotor windings powered by pulse-width modulation (PWM) inverters that generate repetitive impulse voltages and are expected to withstand partial discharges during operation. This part specifies the electrical qualification tests for typical samples to verify their compatibility with voltage-type inverters. It also describes a new grading system that sets limits for the reliable performance of insulation structures under inverter power supply conditions.
Although this part applies to voltage-type inverters, there are other types of inverters that can generate repetitive impulse voltages. For such inverters, similar methods can be used for testing.
Rotating motors that only use voltage-type inverters during startup do not need to have their insulation structures qualified, so they are not within the scope of this part.
