Abstract
This standard establishes the necessary guidelines that should be followed in the design of cranes in terms of their overall structure, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and safety features. It specifies design and calculation requirements and methods, and can serve as a technical basis for analyzing and evaluating designs.
This standard applies to gantry cranes, jib cranes, and cable-operated cranes, but does not address special issues related to the design of these cranes. This standard can also be used as a reference for other types of cranes.
