GB/T 17040-2019 Determination of sulfur in petroleum and petroleum products—Energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry
Abstract
This standard specifies the test method for determining the sulfur content in petroleum and petroleum products using energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry.
This standard is applicable to the determination of sulfur in single-phase petroleum and petroleum products that are liquid at normal temperature or under appropriate heating, or can be dissolved in hydrocarbon solvents, including automotive gasoline, ethanol gasoline, diesel, biodiesel and their blended fuels, jet fuels, kerosene, other distillate oils, naphtha, residual oils, crude oil, lubricating oil base oils, hydraulic oils, and similar petroleum products.
This standard is applicable to the determination of the mass fraction of sulfur in the range of 0.0017% (17 mg/kg) to 4.6% (46,000 mg/kg).
