This document specifies the technical requirements for appliance couplers for household and similar use, including rated values, marking, dimensional inspection, protection against electric shock, structure, electrical performance, and mechanical performance.
This document applies to two-pole and two-pole grounded appliance couplers for household and similar use, which are used to connect household and similar electrical appliances to the main power supply.
This document also applies to appliance input sockets or appliance output sockets installed on or integrated into appliances.
The rated voltage shall not exceed 250 V (AC), and the rated current shall not exceed 16 A.
Appliance couplers that meet the requirements of this document are suitable for normal use in an ambient temperature that generally does not exceed +40℃, but the average ambient temperature during a 24-hour period shall not exceed +35℃, and the lower limit of the ambient air temperature shall be -5℃.
Appendix E provides test requirements for the derating of the working current of accessories when the ambient temperature exceeds +35℃ but does not exceed +90℃ (including +90℃).
Appliance couplers are not suitable for:
—— replacing the GB/T 2099.1 plug and socket system;
—— replacing the DCLs (connection devices) or LSCs (lamp-specific couplers) of GB/T 31463 (all parts) for lamps;
—— replacing the GB/T 32517 installation couplers.
