GB/T 3883.7-2012

This section concerns the safety of hand-held power tools driven by motors or electromagnets, with a rated voltage of not more than 250 V for single-phase AC and 440 V for three-phase AC.
Where applicable, this section addresses the common hazards encountered when people use the tools normally and during reasonably foreseeable misuse of the tools.
Tools with electric heating elements fall within the scope of this section. These tools should also comply with the relevant parts of the GB 4706 series.
For motors that are not isolated from the power grid and do not meet the basic insulation requirements designed for the tool's rated voltage, the requirements are specified in Appendix B.
The requirements for electric tools and electromagnetically driven tools powered by rechargeable batteries, as well as the battery cases provided for them, are specified in Appendix K. The requirements for such battery-powered tools that can be operated and/or charged directly from mains power or non-isolated power sources are specified in Appendix L.
Hand-held power tools that can be installed on a stand or workbench as fixed tools without any modification to the tools themselves fall within the scope of this section. The requirements for these stands or workbenches are specified in Appendix M.
This section applies to hammer-type tools.
The tools covered in this section include, but are not limited to, electric pickaxes, electric hammers, and hammer drills.
