Scope

This document specifies the determination method of calcium and magnesium content in industrial circulating cooling water and the calcium and magnesium content in scale in boiler water systems or circulating water systems using atomic absorption spectrometry. This document is applicable to the determination of calcium content in industrial circulating cooling water ranging from 0.5 mg/L to 75 mg/L, and magnesium content ranging from 0.1 mg/L to 50 mg/L. It is also applicable to the determination of calcium and magnesium content in scale in various other industrial waters, raw water, and water systems, as well as the determination of calcium content in phosphorus-zinc pre-coating solutions used in industrial circulating cooling water.
