Scope

This document describes the test method for determining the elastic modulus and strength of ceramic tubes or ring-shaped materials at room temperature using the notch ring method, and also describes the sample preparation method, loading mode, loading rate, data collection, and reporting format.
This document is applicable to homogeneous ceramics, glass, whiskers, or particle-reinforced ceramic composites. This test method can be used for material performance research, quality control, performance characterization, and data collection.
This document is not applicable to continuous fiber-reinforced ceramic composites.
