Scope

This standard specifies the basic requirements for Class 8 8-hole or pin-type steel forged lifting hooks (hereinafter referred to as "hooks") with a maximum working load of not more than 63 t and equipped with safety locking devices. This equipment is mainly used for:
—— Lifting chains specified in GB/T 20652 and GB/T 25853;
—— Steel wire rope slings specified in ISO 7531;
—— Woven slings;
—— Lifting objects, materials or goods.
This standard does not apply to hand-forged hooks.
