Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, functions, project types, stage divisions, composition of participants, evaluation teams (requirements), evaluation processes, responses to safety evaluation reports, and issues that need to be considered during the safety evaluation process for the safety evaluation of mountainous highways. This standard applies to the driving safety evaluation of new and modified/expanded projects of all grades of mountainous highways, as well as special rectification projects for safety hazards at accident-prone sections of roads. The safety evaluation of other roads can also be conducted in accordance with this standard.
