Scope

This document describes a method for determining the corrosion resistance of glass in a 100℃ hydrochloric acid solution using flame emission or atomic absorption spectroscopy. The acid resistance of glass is expressed in terms of the mass of alkali oxides dissolved per unit area of the glass surface.
This document is applicable to borosilicate glass products with good acid resistance. If the sample is pre-treated with acid, the acid resistance of the glass material can also be determined. Other glass products or materials can refer to this document for guidance.
