Scope

This standard specifies the performance requirements for electronic control devices used in tubular fluorescent lamps. The electronic control device is used in AC power supplies with a voltage not exceeding 1,000 V and a frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz, and/or DC power supplies. Its operating frequency is different from that of the power supply, and it is used with fluorescent lamps that meet the requirements of IEC 60081 and IEC 60901 and other high-frequency fluorescent lamps.
Note 1: The tests described in this standard are all type tests. They do not include the test requirements for individual control devices during production.
Note 2: For final products such as lamps and standalone control devices, there are specific standards for power supply current harmonics and immunity. In this regard, the control devices in lamps play a major role. Both the control devices and other components should comply with these standards.
Note 3: The requirements for digitally addressable lighting interfaces of electronic control devices are given in IEC 62386.
