YY/T 0292.1-2020 Protective devices against diagnostic medical X-radiation—Part 1:Determination of attenuation properties of materials
Basic Information
Scope
This part of YY/T 0292 is applicable to sheet-form materials used in the manufacture of protective equipment, which can provide protection against X-ray radiation generated by X-ray tubes with voltages up to 400 kV and gamma radiation emitted by radionuclides with photon energies up to 1.3 MeV.
This part is not applicable to the inspection of the attenuation performance of protective equipment before and after regular use.
This part of YY/T 0292 specifies the methods for determining and expressing the attenuation characteristics of materials.
The attenuation characteristics are given in the following forms:
——Attenuation rate;
——Cumulative coefficient;
——Attenuation equivalent.
Where appropriate, together with indications of uniformity and mass per unit area.
This part includes methods for representing the declared values of attenuation characteristics.
This part does not include:
——Methods for the regular inspection of protective equipment, especially protective clothing;
——Methods for measuring layered attenuation in radiation beams;
——Methods for measuring the attenuation of walls and other parts of devices intended to provide protection against ionizing radiation.
