Scope

This document describes the method of calculating color difference according to the CIEDE2000 formula.
This document is applicable to the case where the CIE LABL*, a*, b* coordinates calculated according to GB/T 20147.4 are used as input values. This document provides a method for describing the color difference between two color stimuli from reflective or transmissive objects, including display devices used to simulate reflective or transmissive objects, provided that the tristimulus values represented by these stimuli have been properly normalized.
This document is not applicable to color stimuli in areas where primary light sources emit light or specular reflected light.
