Scope

This document describes the engine and drive motor systems used in M-class and N-class vehicles. It provides methods for conducting net power tests and maximum 30-minute power tests for drive motor systems based on the curves of net power versus speed changes provided by the manufacturer. This document is applicable to reciprocating piston engines (spark-ignited or compression-ignited) or rotary engines (spark-ignited or compression-ignited), but not to free piston engines. This document is applicable to drive motor systems.
