GB/T 15445.3-2025 Representation of results of particle size analysis—Part 3:Adjustment of an experimental curve to a reference model
Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies the method of fitting experimental curves to reference models within a statistical framework and clarifies the evaluation criteria for residual deviations after fitting. The reference model can also serve as a basis for maintaining the target particle size distribution of products. This document applies to the fitting process of the following reference models: - a) Normal distribution (Laplace-Gaussian distribution): Applicable to powders obtained by sedimentation or condensation methods, or natural products (such as pollen); - b) Log-normal distribution (Gaucht-Marchal distribution): Applicable to powders obtained by grinding or crushing; - c) Gates-Gorden-Schutzman distribution (double-logarithmic coordinate system): Applicable to the analysis of extreme values of fine particle distributions; - d) Rosin-Rammler distribution: Applicable to the analysis of extreme values of coarse particle distributions; - e) Other arbitrary models or combined models (if using non-linear fitting methods, see the example of bimodal distribution in Appendix C). This document can provide important support for product quality assurance or process optimization related to particle size distribution analysis.
