Scope

This document specifies the general requirements, design conditions, and design requirements for the design of static synchronous series compensators (SSSC) systems, as well as the design requirements for overvoltage and insulation coordination, main primary equipment, secondary systems, and auxiliary systems. This document is applicable to SSSCs used in power grids with voltages of 220 kV and above. SSSCs of other voltage levels can be implemented with reference to this document.
