Scope

This section specifies the technical requirements and acceptance standards for X-ray and γ-ray inspections of butt welds on carbon steel, low-alloy steel, and stainless steel plates, profiles, rods, and pipes used in nuclear power plant structural modules and mechanical modules. This section applies to the X-ray inspection of butt welds during the manufacturing and installation phases of structural and mechanical modules in nuclear power plants built using a modular construction method. This section also applies to the acceptance of X-ray inspections of welds in static load modules.
