This part of GB/T 10066 applies to industrial microwave heating equipment and devices used for heat processing of materials containing water or moisture. These applications include heating and drying of partially conductive or non-conductive materials such as wood, fabrics, paper, and grains in natural and protective atmospheres (e.g., inert or vacuum), or heating materials that exhibit a heating effect under microwave irradiation. For other materials (e.g., plastics), test methods are currently under consideration. This part pertains to microwave heating equipment and devices operating under continuous rated conditions at frequencies of 300 MHz to 300 GHz. Equipment operating at lower microwave frequencies (i.e., between 300 MHz and 600 GHz) may use vacuum tubes or other microwave emitters. If the output power measurement systems specified in this part cannot be used for certain special applications within this frequency range, those measurement systems specified in GB/T 10066.9 may be employed instead. The primary objective of this part is to specify methods for measuring the output power of industrial microwave heating devices. Given the widespread use of microwave heating applications, any output power obtained from these tests should not be regarded as the power consumption value of a specific microwave heating device product for a given load. However, in certain cases, this output power value can be used to indicate the performance of the device.
