This document applies to the design, development, production, and testing of the following hedge trimmers: — Hedge trimmers powered by lithium-ion batteries with a nominal voltage not exceeding 75 V (hereinafter referred to as "lithium-ion hedge trimmers"); — Single-phase AC hedge trimmers with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V (hereinafter referred to as "AC hedge trimmers"); — Hedge trimmers powered by gasoline engines with a displacement not exceeding 80 cm3 (hereinafter referred to as "gasoline hedge trimmers"). Note: In this document, "electric hedge trimmers" refers to "lithium-ion hedge trimmers" and "AC hedge trimmers". This document does not apply to: — Backpack-style gasoline hedge trimmers; — Hedge trimmers with rotating blades; — Pole-type hedge trimmers with a maximum length exceeding 3.5 m.
