This standard specifies the determination of the purity and hydrocarbon impurity content of ortho-xylene in petroleum by gas chromatography. For this part, the detection range of non-aromatic hydrocarbons, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, meta-xylene, p-xylene, isopropylbenzene, n-propylbenzene, styrene, trimethylbenzene, methyl ethyl benzene, p-diethyl benzene, and other hydrocarbon impurities is (0.001~3.5)% (mass fraction).
