This document specifies the classification, specifications, and marking of elastomer-modified bituminous waterproofing membranes (referred to as "SBS waterproofing membranes") and plastic-modified bituminous waterproofing membranes (referred to as "APP waterproofing membranes"), as well as their raw materials, requirements, testing methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, storage, and transportation. This document applies to SBS waterproofing membranes made with petroleum bitumen as the main raw material, styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) thermoplastic elastomer as the modifier, and polyester felt or fiberglass felt as the base fabric, with isolation materials applied on both sides; and to APP waterproofing membranes made with petroleum bitumen as the main raw material, atactic polypropylene (APP) or polyolefin polymers (APAO, APO) as the modifier, and polyester felt or fiberglass felt as the base fabric, with isolation materials applied on both sides.
