This document specifies the safety requirements for the design and manufacture of calendering machines used for calendering, polishing, laminating, or embossing rubber or plastics.
This document applies to rubber and plastic calendering machines, two-roll or three-roll extrusion calendering machines, including integrated components such as cutting devices, material guiding devices, feeding devices, and auxiliary rollers.
This document applies to all major hazards, dangerous states, and dangerous events related to the calendering machine that may occur throughout its entire life cycle (see GB/T 15706-2012, Section 5.4), during its intended use, and in the case of reasonably foreseeable misuse by the manufacturer (see Appendix A).
This document does not include the following hazards:
—— Hazards caused by processing explosive materials or materials that can produce explosive gases;
—— Hazards caused by laser or ionizing radiation;
—— Hazards caused by installing the calendering machine in an explosive environment.
