This part specifies the safety requirements and verification rules for the design and manufacture of large rotary mowers used for cutting crop residues, grass, and small shrubs by impact force, with the cutting deck mounted on tractor or machines. The single cutting element of the mower has a cutting diameter of not less than 1,000 mm. This standard provides methods to eliminate or reduce the risks that may occur during the use of the machine and the risks that may reasonably be foreseen due to the operator's misuse during normal use and maintenance. This part specifies the types of safety operation information that manufacturers should provide.
Note 1: The machine can be used for cutting grass. This part does not specify additional requirements for the machine to be used outside agriculture.
This part does not apply to the following machines:
——GB/T 10395.25 relates to rotary disc mowers, drum mowers, and flail mowers for harvesting forage crops;
——large rotary cantilever mowers;
——step-by-step electric mowers;
——GB 10395.11 relates to power lawn mowers.
For machines designed and manufactured in accordance with this part, when the provisions of this part differ from those of GB 10395.1, the provisions of this part shall take precedence over those of GB 10395.1.
This part covers all major hazards, dangerous states, and dangerous events related to the use of large rotary mowers under the conditions anticipated and foreseen by the manufacturer. (A list of major hazards is provided in Appendix A.)
