Abstract
This document specifies the general rules and common safety requirements for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear, including:

——Characteristics;
——Electrical equipment-related information;
——Normal use, installation, and transportation conditions, as well as decommissioning and disassembly;
——Structure and performance requirements;
——Characteristics and performance verification;
——Energy efficiency factors (see Appendix V);
——Environmental factors.
This document applies to (when required by relevant product standards) low-voltage switchgear and controlgear (hereinafter referred to as "equipment" or "electrical equipment"), which are used to connect to circuits with a rated voltage of not more than 1,000 V AC or 1,500 V DC. 1)
