GB/T 19436.2-2025 Electrical safety of machinery—Electro-sensitive protective equipment—Part 2:Particular requirements for equipment using active opto-electronic protective devices(AOPDs)
Abstract
This document specifies the requirements for the design, manufacture, and testing of electro-sensitive protective equipment (ESPE), which is a component of safety-related systems, using active optoelectronic protective devices (AOPDs) to detect human presence. It is particularly important to ensure that the ESPE meets appropriate safety-related performance requirements based on its characteristics. ESPE may include selective safety functions, and the requirements for such functions are provided in GB/T 19436.1–2025 and Appendix A of this document. This document does not specify the size or shape of the detection zone, the arrangement of hazardous components in any specific application, or the conditions that constitute a mechanical hazardous state. It is limited to the functionality of ESPE and how it interfaces with mechanical systems. This document does not include the use of AOPDs with radiation wavelengths outside the range of 400 nm to 1,500 nm. This document may be relevant to applications other than human protection, such as protecting machinery or products from mechanical damage. In these applications, additional requirements may be necessary, such as materials that must be recognized by the sensitive function and possess characteristics different from those of humans. This document does not address the emission requirements of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
