GB/T 228.4-2019 Metallic materials—Tensile testing—Part 4:Method of test in liquid helium
Abstract
This part of GB/T 228 specifies the principles, definitions, symbols, and explanations of the tensile testing method for metal materials at liquid helium temperature (boiling point is -269 °C or 4.2 K, designated as 4 K), the specimen and its size measurement, testing equipment, testing requirements, performance determination, and test reports.
This part is applicable to the determination of the tensile properties of metal materials at liquid helium temperature. It can also be applied to low-temperature (temperature less than -196 °C or 77 K) tensile tests that require special equipment, small specimens, and involve serrated yielding, adiabatic heating, and the influence of strain rate.
