GB/T 3836.12-2019 Explosive atmospheres—Part 12:Material characteristics for combustible dusts—Test methods
Abstract
This part of the "Explosive Environments" standard specifies the test methods for determining the flammability of combustible dust and combustible dust layers, which are used to classify areas where such substances exist, so as to correctly select and install electrical and non-electrical equipment (mechanical equipment, etc.) for use in combustible dust environments.
The measured flammability characteristics of combustible dust apply to the following environmental conditions:
——Temperature: -20 ℃ to +60 ℃;
——Pressure: 80 kPa to 110 kPa;
——Normal oxygen content in the air (by volume): typically 21%.
The test methods specified in this part do not apply to:
——Known explosive substances, propellants (such as gunpowder, explosives), or substances or mixtures with similar properties under certain conditions; or
——Explosive substances or propellants that do not require oxygen in the atmosphere to burn.
