Scope

This document specifies the semantic representation of quantifiable information in information retrieval, question answering, text summarization, and other natural language processing applications.
This document is applicable to language-related technologies or practices, and other related technical fields may refer to it for use.
This document also addresses the issue of time duration discussed in ISO 24617-1, as well as spatial measurements such as distance handled in ISO 24617-7, while ensuring their interoperability with other measurement types. This document also includes the processing of measurements or quantities introduced in Section 8.3 of ISO 24617-6:2016.
Note: ISO 24617-12 deals with more general theoretical issues regarding quantified and quantitative information.
