Basic Information
Scope
This part applies to (when required by relevant product standards) low-voltage switchgear and controlgear (hereinafter referred to as "electrical appliances"), which are used to connect circuits with a rated voltage of not more than 1,000 V AC or 1,500 V DC.
This part does not apply to low-voltage switchgear and controlgear specified in GB 7251.
The purpose of this part is to stipulate the basic rules and requirements common to electrical appliances, which include:
——Definitions;
——Characteristics;
——Related information of electrical appliances;
——Conditions for normal use, installation, and transportation;
——Structural and performance requirements;
——Characteristics and performance verification.
The relevant requirements for digital inputs and/or digital outputs that can be compatible with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in electrical appliances are specified in Appendix S.
