Scope

This document provides an additional implementation method for integrating the Foundation Fieldbus (FF) protocol into the COM-based FDT specification (IEC/TR 62453-41).
This document describes the communication definitions, protocol-specific extensions, and the representation method of blocks (such as transmitter blocks, resource blocks, or function blocks).
The protocol-specific definitions are based on the H1 and HSE protocols of the FF specification. Additionally, these definitions contain the information needed by the system to configure FF devices.
The scope of this document is limited to the device and system-specific definitions of the Foundation Fieldbus.
This document specifies the implementation of communication and other services based on IEC 62453-301.
This document neither includes the FDT specification nor modifies it.
