Scope

This document provides an implementation method for integrating CIP technology into the COM-based FDT interface specification (IEC/TR 62453-41). Communication protocol family 2 (CIP TM) defines communication protocols based on IEC 61158-2 Type 2, IEC 61158-3-2, IEC 61158-4-2, IEC 61158-5-2, IEC 61158-6-2, and IEC 62026-3. CP 2/1 (ControlNet TM), CP 2/2 (EtherNet/IP TM), and CP 2/3 (DEVICENET) basic protocols are defined in IEC 61784-1 and IEC 61784-2. Reference [15] also defines other CIP-based communication protocols (CompoNet).
This document specifies the implementation of communication and other services based on IEC 62453-302.
This document neither includes the FDT specification nor modifies it.
