Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements and inspection rules for manual tools used in live working at voltages of 1 kV and below, or direct current of 1.5 kV and below (referred to as "manual tools for live working" in this document). It describes the test methods for manual tools used in live working and provides a classification of such tools. This document applies to the design, manufacture, and testing of insulated manual tools, coated insulated manual tools, and hybrid manual tools used in live working at voltages of 1 kV and below, or direct current of 1.5 kV and below.
