Scope

This document specifies a framework for representing the data recorded in a terminology database, which includes a meta-model and a method of describing specific terminology markup languages using XML. This document defines the implementation mechanism of constraints in terminology markup languages (rather than the specific constraints of a particular terminology markup language) and the conditions that allow the mapping of data represented in one terminology markup language to other terminology markup languages. This document is applicable to the development and use of computer applications supporting terminology data, as well as the exchange of data between different applications.
