Scope

This part of GB/T 879 specifies the type and dimensions of straight groove and lightweight elastic cylindrical pins, their applications, technical requirements, and markings.
This part is applicable to elastic cylindrical pins with a nominal diameter of d1=2 mm to 50 mm, made of steel, austenitic and martensitic stainless steel, and featuring a straight groove that can withstand light loads.
Note: The selection of the nominal diameter should take into account the following: the elastic pins can be fitted into another pin, or used in combination with the heavyweight pins specified in GB/T 879.1.
