Scope

This standard specifies the general requirements for marine platform cranes (hereinafter referred to as cranes), including their load and load combinations, structure and components, mechanisms, main parts, drive and control systems, personnel lifting, safety devices, painting, testing, marking, and labeling.
This standard applies to the design, manufacture, and acceptance of marine platform cranes.
This standard does not apply to special types of cranes such as wave compensation cranes, and suspension frames and/or emergency escape devices.
