Scope

This standard specifies the sample preparation, test instruments, test conditions, test procedures, and evaluation methods for electrochemical corrosion tests of marine metal materials.
This standard is applicable to electrochemical corrosion tests of two different marine metals in artificial seawater, natural seawater, or 3.5% sodium chloride solution under an electrically connected state in laboratory conditions. It can also be used as a reference for electrochemical corrosion tests of metal materials for marine engineering and other industrial equipment, as well as electrochemical corrosion tests under field conditions.
