Scope
This part of GB/T 21838 specifies the inspection and calibration methods for testing machines used in instrumented indentation tests according to GB/T 21838.1. This part describes the direct inspection method for checking the main functions of the testing machine and the indirect inspection method suitable for determining the repeatability of the testing machine. In addition to the direct inspection method, the indirect inspection method is also used for routine periodic inspections of the testing machine in use. For each testing method, the testing machine should be subjected to an indirect inspection separately. This part is also applicable to portable testing machines.
