Scope
This document specifies the procedure for evaluating the uncertainty of measurement results obtained using coordinate measuring machines and calibrated workpieces or measurement standards. It provides a simplified experimental method for evaluating the uncertainty of coordinate measuring machine measurements, which (alternative measurement) uses calibrated workpieces with dimensions and shapes similar to the actual workpieces to replace the unknown measured workpieces in a manner consistent with actual measurements. It also covers the requirements for non-alternative measurement methods of coordinate measuring machines, the uncertainty evaluation procedure, the required measurement equipment, and the re-verification and intermediate inspection of measurement uncertainties. The measurement uncertainty evaluation method specified in this document can be applied to other coordinate measuring systems. Note: The evaluation of measurement uncertainty is always related to a specific measurement task.
