GB/T 15456-2019 Determination of the chemical oxygen demand in industrial circulating cooling water—Permanganate index method
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the chemical oxygen demand (COD) in industrial circulating cooling water using the permanganate index method.
This standard is applicable to the determination of chemical oxygen demand (CODMn) in industrial circulating cooling water with a content of 0.5 mg/L to 10 mg/L (calculated as O2). Among them, the volumetric method is suitable for the determination of CODMn ranging from 2 mg/L to 10 mg/L (calculated as O2); the potentiometric titration method is suitable for the determination of CODMn ranging from 0.5 mg/L to 10 mg/L (calculated as O2). If the concentration exceeds the upper limit of the range, it can be diluted and measured afterwards.
This standard is also applicable to the determination of chemical oxygen demand (CODMn) in raw water, boiler water, and recycled water.
