YY/T 0801.1-2010 Terminal units for medical gas pipeline systems—Part 1:Terminal units for use with compressed medical gases and vacuum
Basic Information
Scope
1.1 This part of YY 0801 is applicable to:
a) Medical gas piping systems that comply with ISO 7396-1, and are used for the following medical gas endpoints:
1) Oxygen;
2) Nitrous oxide;
3) Medical air;
4) Carbon dioxide;
5) Oxygen/nitrous oxide mixture [50%/50% (by volume)].
b) Medical gas piping systems that comply with ISO 7396-1, and are used for the following gases and endpoints:
1) Oxygen-enriched air;
2) Air for driving surgical instruments;
3) Nitrogen for driving surgical instruments;
4) Vacuum.
Note 1: Air for driving surgical instruments may be referred to by different names or symbols, such as instrument air, surgical air, air drive, air-700, and air-800.
Note 2: The requirements of this part can be used as guidance for other gas endpoints. When used generally, these other gases will be considered to be included in this part.
This part places particular emphasis on ensuring the components of gas-specific endpoints to prevent these components from being interchanged between different gases and applications.
