Scope

This document specifies the dimensions and other requirements of three commonly used carbide cutting tools for milling machines, which are the most widely used cutting tools in dental laboratories. This document is applicable to the three main types of carbide cutting tools used in dental laboratories. This document is not applicable to other specialty cutting tools used in dental laboratories (e.g., spiral blades, cross blades). Cutting tools used in CAD/CAM systems are not within the scope of this document.
