Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, and marking for pure wool and wool-blend blankets. This standard applies to woven and raschel blankets where the weft yarn or face yarn is pure wool, or where the weft yarn or face yarn contains 50% or more wool mixed with other fibers. Blankets with a wool content of less than 50% and those made from special animal fibers (such as cashmere, camel hair, and yak wool) may also be implemented in accordance with this standard.
