Scope

This document defines the terms and definitions of electric wheelchairs, provides the classification and model naming of electric wheelchairs, stipulates the requirements, inspection reports, inspection rules, user manuals, documents, markings, and packaging of electric wheelchairs, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document applies to electric wheelchairs (including electric mobility scooters) powered by electricity, which are designed for the use of disabled or elderly people who can carry only one passenger and whose weight exceeds 25 kg but does not exceed 100 kg, and are classified according to GB/T 16432 as follows:
a) Electric wheelchairs with manual steering (such as electric mobility scooters);
b) Electric wheelchairs with power steering.
This document does not apply to electrically assisted manual wheelchairs.
