Scope

Main technical content: This document specifies the terms and definitions, methodological principles, instruments and equipment, sample selection, measurement, waste disposal, and test reports for determining whether fully biodegradable plastic products contain non-degradable components using near-infrared spectroscopy. This document is applicable to the determination of non-degradable plastic components in six categories, including polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA), and polyethylene terephthalate (PET). This document is also applicable to the inspection of various fully biodegradable plastic products (films, bags, tableware, boxes, pads). However, it is not applicable to the inspection of black plastic products.
