GB/T 6115.3-2026 Series capacitors for power systems—Part 3:Internal fuses

Scope

This document specifies the performance and testing of internal fuses for series capacitors, and provides guidelines for the coordination of internal fuses and capacitor group protection.
This document applies to internal fuses used to disconnect faulty capacitor elements, allowing the remaining parts of the capacitor unit and the capacitor group in which it is located to continue operating. Such fuses are not intended as substitutes for switching devices such as circuit breakers, or as substitutes for external protection of capacitor groups or any of their components.
The purpose of this document is:
——To outline requirements for performance and testing;
——To provide guidelines for the coordination of internal fuses and capacitor group protection.
Note: The external fuses for series capacitors are described in Appendix A of GB/T 6115.1–2026, "Test Requirements and Application Guidelines for External Fuses and Capacitor Units Protected by External Fuses".
