Scope
This standard specifies the method of evaluating and determining the shelf life of food products through sensory testing. During the specified storage period, the sensory characteristics of the food, such as appearance, odor, taste, texture, trigeminal nerve sensation, and flavor, are evaluated through sensory testing. This standard provides guidance for developing specific product shelf life determination procedures. Even when using this standard, its main purpose does not address all safety issues. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health safeguards and to clarify the specified restrictions before use. Note: When estimating the shelf life, the results of microbiological detection and physical and chemical testing should also be taken into account, along with the results of sensory testing.
