Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements and processing methods for the heat treatment of extra-large forged steel parts made from steel ingots weighing more than 250 tons. This document is applicable to the heat treatment of extra-large forged steel parts used in heavy equipment in industries such as energy, metallurgy, and petrochemicals, typically represented by rotor materials of the Ni2, Ni3, and Ni4 series, bearing roller materials of the Cr2, Cr3, and Cr4 series, container materials of 12Cr2Mo1 and 12Cr2Mo1V, and nuclear power materials of 20MnNiMo. The chemical compositions of common materials for extra-large forged steel parts are listed in Appendix A. For extra-large forged steel parts made from other materials, the heat treatment shall be implemented in accordance with this document.
