GB/T 24242的本部分规定了拉拔或冷轧钢丝用非合金钢盘条的尺寸、外形、重量及允许偏差、订货内容、技术要求、试验方法、检验规则、包装、标志和质量证明书。
本部分适用于拉拔或冷轧钢丝用非合金钢热轧盘条（以下简称盘条）。
本部分不适用于下列产品：
——易切削钢盘条；
——冷镦、冷挤压用盘条；
——焊接用钢盘条；
——混凝土用焊接钢筋网用盘条；
——滚珠和滚柱轴承钢；
——高疲劳强度机械弹簧用盘条，如阀门弹簧用盘条。
