Scope

This part of GB/T 24242 specifies the dimensions, shape, weight, and allowable deviations of non-alloy steel wire rod for drawing or cold rolling, as well as the order content, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, and quality certificates.
This part applies to hot-rolled wire rod for drawing or cold rolling (hereinafter referred to as wire rod).
This part does not apply to the following products:
——Easy-to-cut steel wire rod;
——Wire rod for cold heading and cold extrusion;
——Wire rod for welding;
——Wire rod for welded steel reinforcement mesh in concrete;
——Steel for ball and roller bearings;
——Wire rod for high-fatigue-strength mechanical springs, such as valve spring wire rod.
