Scope
This part of GB/T 24242 specifies the method of designating grades, dimensions, shapes, weights, and allowable deviations of general-purpose wire rod used in silk-making from non-alloy steel, as well as the content of orders, technical requirements, testing methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, and quality certificates. This part applies to high-quality wire rod (hereinafter referred to as "wire rod") used for drawing or cold rolling steel wire with general performance requirements.
